After 10 years relying on word-of-mouth and repeat visitors, Lakeside Film Festivals ticket sales had dropped. I was brought on just a few months before the festival to help.

Rushed updates before each edition of the festival and no brand guidelines had left the website in need of a clean up. Important info was missing, unclear, or hard to find.

I only had two days to redesign and implement in Wix, so simplicity was key. The site needed to show the full festival experience while making info and tickets easy to find.

To solve all of this, I...

→ Reorganised content into clear sections, rewrote copy for clarity, and added an accordion FAQ, reducing repeat questions from visitors.

→ Built regularly updated sections with Wix’s CMS tools for easy future updates that don’t break the design.

→ Created better visual consistency between the website and the external ticketing system using images and brand colours, enhancing trust during purchase.

Bold text in the logo font laid over lively photos/videos created a simple yet eye-catching visual system, tripling their following and reaching 96k+ views in just three months.

The redesigned website made key information much easier to find, reducing confusion and queries from visitors, and a more active social media account definitely helped.

However, I don't think the festival's target market was only on instagram, so an OOH campaign could have been more effective, but time and budget constraints didn't allow.
